Oil on canvas
28 W x 22 H x 0.7 D inches
This is one of three painting series that study the effect of using monochromatic tones for the entire painting. Each painting was crafted to evoke a different emotion in the observer. Yellow for calm and serenity. This particular painting was challenging to complete. The cadmium oil paint used for the majority of this painting takes very long to dry. It took around 6 months from start to completion.
This painting presents a vibrant still life composition, dominated by rich golden hues that unify the scene. A variety of fruits, including bananas, apples, lemons, and oranges, are arranged on a flowing yellow fabric that enhances the warmth and luminosity of the piece. The fabric's folds create a dynamic background, adding movement and depth to the composition.
The artist captures the textures and forms of the fruits, from the smooth, reflective surface of the apples to the slightly rough and dimpled skin of the lemons. The bananas curve naturally, leading the viewer’s eye toward the cluster of oranges nestled in the background. The play of light and shadow adds realism and dimension, making the fruit appear almost tangible.
With its glowing palette and masterful attention to detail, this painting radiates warmth and energy, evoking a sense of abundance and the simple beauty of nature’s offerings.
